i have recd money in april of 2011 for work done in october of the previous year. while paying the fees they deducted tds and have given me tds cert for previous year. I showed the tds as not claimed for A.Y. 10-11 while filing return. Now i want to claim this year. How do i do it. I did not take the fees last year as there was dispute and they agreed only in april 11 that they will pay.

Since you have recd. money april, you should have passed the journal entry in the previous year following the mercantile system of accounting. Because you might not have filed the return by april'11 for FY 10-11. They are right in giving the TDS Certificate in last year. You have to file revise return and claim it, if the return is already filed.
