03 February 2012 Work as defined U/s 194C includes carriage of goods or passengers ...... So even if it is not a contract, it is a "work".

Even if the contract is not a written contract, it partakes the character of a contract, when somebody works for you for an agreed sum of money.

If PAN No has been given to you, you need not to deduct TDS.
