What is tds applicability when goods are imported and paid freight to non residential person.
In my view TDS will not be required to be deducted as the income of shipping companies is governed by Section 172 which specifically deals with the profits of non resident from occasional shipping business.
These are require to pay tax only while loading from Indian ports.
