Is it necessary that both the original return and revised return should be the same?
Ex: If a person file ITR1 and later on he realised that he has to file ITR4.
If ITR4 is filed now is it revised return for the ITR1 filed?
Ex: If a person file ITR1 and later on he realised that he has to file ITR4.
If ITR4 is filed now is it revised return for the ITR1 filed?

It is not necessary that the same ITR should be used for filing Revised Return.

A person , who has filed original return in ITR-1 wants to revise his Return by showing his Business Income,(which has not been shown in the Original Return), then he can do so only by filing ITR-4.
