hi
My friend is a full time commission agent he filed income tax return last year and there was refund case of Rs. 30000 but he got only Rs.3500 so what step should taken to me against I.T. Dept. for claiming balancing amount.

Just refer the assessment order or intimation u/s 143(1) ur friend must have got along with the refund cheque. See how the computation has been done in 143(1).

If you haven't received the copy of assessment order or intimation u/s 143(1), then:-
(1) Take the acknoledgement copy of I. Tax Return filed,
(2) Copy of Bank Statement showing the refund amount,
(3) and talk personally to the ITO of your ward.
