05 April 2018 Dear sir,

Please tell me how to calculate TDS on Rent with interest. for Eg.

Rent A/c ( Rent Applicable on dt. 15.08.2017 for the 40000 per month)

Payment Details
1. 20.11.2017 Amount 120000.00
2. 22.12.2017 Amount 40000.00
3. 16.01.2018 Amount 40000.00
4. 20.02.2018 Amount 40000.00

Total Rent for the F/y 300000 and made payment for Rs. 240000 and 60000 is pending and No Tds Deduct.

05 April 2018 TDS on rent to be deducted u/s194I 10% , TDS to be deducted either Provision or Payment whichever is early , TDs to be deducted from Aug Month , TDS to be paid on subsequent 7th of Next month , if he fails to pay TDS after due date interest to be worked from the deduction month till payment 1.5% till such delay .
quarterly return to be filed end of subsequent quarter if delay in filing TDS return section 234E, where a person fails to file the TDS/TCS return on or before the due
date prescribed in this regard, then he shall be liable to pay, by way of late feeu/s 234E, a sum of Rs.200 for every day during which the failure continues. The amount of late fees shall not exceed the amount of TDS.
