Tds

14 January 2017 Hi all,

A company applied for TAN in the month of Dec 16 and started deducting TDS from said date, however, it received it's TAN on 14th Jan 2017.

Since the company could not deposit TDS on due date i.e. 7th Jan 2017 in absence of TAN No, Is it required to pay Intrest for said delay?

14 January 2017 Yes, If you book the entry on December month 2 months interest applicable.

15 January 2017 Dear Mohit, You can always check online the status of your tan application. it usually pops up in a week. However since you've now deducted late, you'll be liable to pay interest of 1.5% for 2 months I.e. 3%.
