Hey I have a query regarding TDS. Actually we have deposited TDS of some amount under some wrong head. Now I just want to know how I could I rectify this. As while filing the TDS return I have to fill the Challan details. So if I filled the same Challan it will reflect under wrong head in 26AS which ultimately effect the accounting too. However there is no loss to anyone as TDS is deposited with the actual amount but under wrong head.

10 January 2014 Thanks for your kind reply.But i am still confused as i deposited the same online.So in this case Should i wait for 7 days or what to do?

10 January 2014 Dont wait for 7 days.. This process in within 7 days. You can send request to your bank in this regard within 7 days.

After 7 days you have to make an application to assessing officer.

10 January 2014 Please refer again to ma case Sir,I have deposited that online.And according to the above link it is nowhere written to send a request to bank in case of online submission.
