09 April 2013 We have TAN from MUMBAI area and now we have shifted whole business unit to Navi Mumbai area.Address change is not accepted as area is completely different.

If I apply to New number now, whn to surrender old number bcoz i hav already paid all deducted TDS in old number and return is due by 15th May. Also i cannot delay applying as i need to April months deducted TDS by 7th May..

Plz guide...

10 April 2013 Firstly, i do not think there should be an issue in changing your address. Who has rejected the address change application?

Assuming, that it is not possible to change the addreess, you can apply for a new TAN with new address immediately and continue to hold your old TAN until you file the ETDS return for that quarter. Once the return is filed you may surrender the TAN

10 April 2013 NSDL TIN centre is not accepting our application for change of address.

Thanks for the guidance..dont hav option other thn sugested one above..

30 May 2013 NSDL is correct because first of all you have change the address in your PAN Card and then the amendment in TIN will be accepted and the same TIN number will continue the only difference will be that the address will change.

07 June 2013 I do not think that this can be the reason.
Because, you can have several TANs based on branches and each branch detail is not there in the PAN application form.
So there is no way for the income tax department to know if the TAN you are changing is of a single address you have.
It is a strange thing.
Their helpline is not offering any solution or reason?

still following up with the NSDL centre..
