I WANT TO FILE ITR FOR AY 2011-12 & 2012-13.I HAVE OLD PAN IN WHICH I
AM MINOR BUT NOW I AM ABOVE 18 YEARS,CAN I FILE ITR ALONG THIS PAN OR
UPDATION IS REQUIRED.
I NEVER FILE ANY RETURN WITH THIS PAN AS ON.
FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING I PROVIDE MY FULL DETAILS:

PAN ISSUE DATE : 23-12-2010

24 September 2012 you can file the return with the same PAN. In due course apply for the new pan card. your number is not going to change, only the PAN details... signature will get change.

26 September 2012 You need to decide whether you want the rectification of PAN in first place or filing of RETURN. The answer will change accordingly. If you want to file the return before rectification in PAN, let Bhola Ram sign the return. If you want to get the PAN rectified first, Bhola Ram need not sign... you yourself will be empowered to sign the return. You need to select one of the alternatives.

26 September 2012 The best way depends upon the ACTION to be taken. Both are correct with its PROS and CONS. If you have time, better to get the PAN rectified in first place.
