what is the difference b/w cenvat & modvat with example

Cenvat was earlier known as Modvat.
Both are mechanism to allow tax credit of tax paid on inputs/capital goods against Excise duty payable on manufacture.

there is no diffrence between cenvat and modvat,
ealier we calle modvat but now we called cenvat,
