25 January 2013 I agree with the reply of expert Kunal with certain modification. It will be slapped in Budget 2013.

This year is AY 2012-13. You have still not claimed the deduction for AY 2013-14. You will claim- would be more correct.

In general, deduction for NSC can be claimed
in the assessment year 2013-14 if you have purchased NSC during the relevant previous year i.e. FY 2012-13.

Subsequently you have to show the interest income, and on the deeming aspect of its reinvestment, such interest can be claimed.
