Hi,
I have given proof for my tax saving investments amounting to Rs 20000. My employer would accordingly deduct tax.
Now i wish to invest further Rs 50000 (given the limit of Rs 1 lakh). Is it just sufficient to give the total investments while filing returns and get tax refund? or should i send the proof also to IT department?

Now no documents is required to attach with the Return. You have to just mention in the Return that yoy have invested.

Being annexure less return no proof need to be attached with return of income. But if called upon on notice, you have to furnish proof of the investment before the tax authorities.
