Tax on claims

My Father passed away in the month of September and now my mother has started getting funds from his office.
As my father was on medical leave , now we have received Salary of that duration , Salary of 300 day EL.
Also my mother will receive money from my father's GPF account and Insurance claims.
Now I don't know anything about tax , Please help me
As money in my mother's account will be going up from 1000 to around 20+ Lakhs

Amount received by nominee i.e.your Mother is not a taxable income.

You can file father return by registering legal heir by your mother by submitting death certificate in tax Login of deceased , legal heir proof. Once departments approves your mother can file tax return of your father.
