my frind is working for an IT company in india....for a project work he has been deputed in USA for 6 months....he is getting his remuneration in usa ( net of USA tds) and salary in india as well.
his residential status is resident in India.

what will be his tax liability in India? will there be any role of DTA ?

23 March 2009 SINCE HE IS RESIDENT IN INDIA, HIS GLOBAL INCOME IS TAXABLE ie., INCOME FROM INDIA AS WELL AS INCOME FROM INDIA IS TAXABLE. HOWEVER HE CAN CLAIMS DEDUCTION FOR DOUBLE TAXATION.

24 July 2011 If the stay of your frend is less that 182 days in USA then TDS should not be deducted in US under the provisions of INDIA-USA DTAA.

However if the TDS has been deducted then you can file the income tax return in India and claim TDS credit in India.
