i have paid tax in state bank of india and recd.stamped challan but it is not reflected in form no 26as now income tax department has raised demand now how to rectify this problem

File rectification request.
In case return filed offline. Then write a letter for rectification of mistake pursuant to Section 154 of Income Tax Act, 1961 stating the facts as mentioned by you and also enclose a copy of the challan.

If you have paid tax recently dont get worry for this you will get credit in 26AS but it will take time..
Please keep the challan copy safe..
You can file the return with That challan it will be banks job to make credit goes to 26AS
