11 February 2011 sir,
my father receieved a cheque of Rs.10 lakhs from one his friend and again my father returend the money to his friend. Yesterdat my father receieved a notice from tax authorities to acount for the money what my father is suppose to do or not
For your kind information my father is an employee and his friend is bussiness man
Please suggest me any suggestions

13 February 2011 You take photo copy of the notice.
*
Explain the purpose and source from where you have received money.
*
Get a confirmation of ledger a/c on which your father will sign
and uncle's signature will confirm the transaction.
*
Get photcopies of Bank statement from your uncle and father of their bank accounts.
*
Make a suitable reply to the notice and
tell your father to contact the tax authorities at the address mentioned in the notice.
*
Or.. if your father don't want to go, contact a CA, known to you.
