08 June 2017 hello all , how to alter stock item name in tally ? I have created name as under stock items RED. A RED B YELlOW A YELLOW B now I want to merger Red And yellow A together and name it as GRADE A and red B and yellow B together and name it as B . how to do this ? I tried doing alteration and I changed RED A as grade A , but when am.changing yellow A as GRADE A it same duplicate name plz give diff name for it . already entries are made . just want to change name of stock . plz help me for solution . thanks in advance

11 June 2017 You cannot merge the simply changing the name already entries are passed, you need to change the entries from one stock item to the another stock item by original entry itself after changing all entries you can delete the stock item which you don't want. or
simple pass one transfer entry of all units of stock which you want to transfer, but here you cannot delete the stock item which you don't want. simple word you cannot remove the stock item if you have even single entry on that stock item
