A tailor works by 2 ways:
1. Purchase Fabric, Stitches it & the sell clothes.
2. Client(3-star hotel) gives him fabric(rs. And in consideration he receives Job Charges.
Query : Whether the 2nd point will be covered under defination of WORKS CONTRACT under DVAT??, & thereby liable for Vat on its (Job Charges-Service Portion = Value of buttons,thread,etc.)??

job work charges pure service. buttons, threads incidental to service . it is like photocopying service using tonor for copies

Sir plz tell me one more thing :
If for his 1st style of work : Sale Value is Rs.8laks p.a
& for his 2nd style of work : Job charges are Rs.7laks p.a
then what i think is that he is neither required 2 register under S.Tax nor VAT.
