Surrendering of registration

25 February 2013 Dear Sir,

we are one of the registered unit under central Excise.and we are small scale manufacturer up to this year our turn over limit does not cross 1.5 crs.we planned to avail ssi exemption for coming financial year. and we want to surrender excise registration certificate..with out closing a business is it possible to surrender certificate????on the ground registration is not mandatory upto 1.5 crs..

You can surrender regn., you should have filed your all return after that Superintendent of your circle will accept cancellation.

Application to be made in writing for that.

and Noted:

You can submit online request for surrendering your Registration Certificate in ACES though:

REG-> Surrender RC (In case of CE)

REG->Surrender (In case of ST)

Once the surrender request is submitted by the

Assessee, approval process passes through the

Superintendent and then AC/DC.
