I WANT KNOW THE EASIEST WAY TO CALCLATE TOTAL OF STCG & LTCG ON SHARES TRADING FOR YHE YEAR 2010-11

I WANT KNOW THE EASIEST WAY TO CALCLATE TOTAL OF STCG & LTCG ON SHARES TRADING FOR YHE YEAR 2010-11

If the transactions are more , you should enter them in a software specifically made for share transactions.

In other cases, you have to prepare an excel sheet having two sections, one for STCG and another for LTCG.

The columns of sheet may be labeled as Date, Scrip Name, Qty Bought, Bought Amt, Qty SOLD, SOLD AMT, CAPITAL GAINS.

excel sheet for STCG has to be divided in four parts covering the four periods as reqd for STCG calculation.

Data to be entered in order of sales transactions taking place.

The remaining part may be developed by the user according to the information required.

You can get Periodical details , by taking periodical totals.
