27 November 2010 i want to form a CA partnership firm in madhya pradesh. how much stamp duty required to be paid for execution of partnership deed.

25 July 2025 In **Madhya Pradesh**, the **stamp duty** payable on a **Partnership Deed**, including for a **CA firm**, is governed by the **Indian Stamp Act, 1899 as amended by the Madhya Pradesh State**.

### ๐Ÿงพ Stamp Duty on Partnership Deed in Madhya Pradesh:

As per **Article 46 of Schedule 1-A** of the **Madhya Pradesh Stamp Act**:

* **If the capital of the partnership does not exceed โ‚น500** โ€“ Stamp Duty is **โ‚น100**
* **If the capital exceeds โ‚น500 but does not exceed โ‚น1,000** โ€“ Stamp Duty is **โ‚น200**
* **If the capital exceeds โ‚น1,000** โ€“ Stamp Duty is **โ‚น500**

> โœ… **Maximum stamp duty is โ‚น500**, irrespective of the partnership capital amount.

1. **If the deed is executed on plain paper** without paying stamp duty, it **may not be admissible in court** as evidence.
2. The partnership deed should be executed on **non-judicial stamp paper** of the appropriate value or franked/stamped accordingly.
3. **No registration is mandatory** under the Indian Partnership Act, but it's advisable to register the deed with the Registrar of Firms for legal enforceability.
4. **For CA firms**, the deed should also be submitted to the **ICAI** for approval.
