16 July 2011 I booked one flat under construction and paid stamp duty of Rs. 50,000 at the time of registration of agreement to sale with builder in sept 2010. Due to some legal issues I cancelled the booking and also cancelled the agreement to sale in July 11. Whether I am eligible to claim deduction of Rs. 50,000 in financial year 2010-11 under section 80C with respect to stamp duty paid?

16 July 2011 Stamp Duty , registration fee and other expenses are allowed U/s 80C if the same are incurred for the purpose of transfer
of "such" house property.

So there may be a supporting house property in your possession also, which has been referred here as " SUCH" House Property.

(It is not allowed for "JHOOTH" house property.-Humour)
