ST on Transporter

03 April 2010 Dear Experts,
there are several bills of transport which is not more than 300/- individually but combinedly they exceeds 1000/- per day.

my question is "should a company pay service tax on the above transport bills when -
1) Transporter is single...or
2) transporter is more than one...???
