06 October 2009 I am starting a new job consultancy. do i need to hire/own a office or i can furnish my home address in ST1 form. Since it would be a sole proprietorship.

Not necessary--> but if you know current charges for new registrations , please do furnish. not necessarily.

06 October 2009 There is no need to hire/own office to get yourself registered under service tax. Ofcourse, you can furnish your home address in ST-1.
