30 August 2015 Mr A is providing a service which is exempt from service tax. In the financial yr 2011-12 value of services provided by him is rs.10000000. In financial yr 2012-13 his services became taxable for the first tym. Mr A wants to know whether he can avail the SSP exemption or not..??

30 August 2015 For SSI exemption, value of taxable service during the previous year is relevant, which in the instant case is nil (ie less than Rs 10 lacs).
He is eligible for the SSI exemption for 12-13.
