There is newly incorporated company. Is it correct that services of first Rs.10 lacs are exempt from service tax and only the excess over Rs.10 lacs is taxable since in the previous year there was no turnover.

If taxable turnover of services > 9 lacs but 10 lacs then full turnover is taxable, first 10 lacs is not exempt,

its not slab rate. if you cross 10 Lacs then whole amt. will be taxable.
