Shipping Bill details in E-invoice and Refund

18 June 2022 Dear Sir,
My query is in respect of refund of tax in the case of export, where shipping bills details are not available at the time of preparation of E-invoice, but shipping bill details is mandatory for the purpose of refund under GST, but in the case of E-invoicing, at the time of preparation of E-invoice the details of Shipping bills are not available, although this field is optional in the E-invoice, but shipping details have to be updated in the E-invoice, so that the refund can be processed

if we try to amend the E-invoice the IRN No. gets deleted

My query is how to keep the IRN no. intact and also update shipping bills details or is there any other mechanism for this

18 June 2022 But the very purpose of E-invoice will be lost, since IRN will get removed, then what is the point of having E-invoice for Exports then
is it possible to have shipping bill details in advance?

18 June 2022 Not possible.
At the docks, all the original documents such as invoice, packing list etc. are to be submitted by the exporter/CHA along with a checklist. If everything is in order, 'Let Export Order' will be issued by the proper officer. Once the 'Let Export Order' is issued, the print out of the shipping bill gets generated.

Raise grivences in the portal software correction will be made.

18 June 2022 We are very small company who have just crossed 20 Cr. Turnover, how about the bigger companies, who are already under E-invoice, and doing it for over a year now, with export invoices running in 1000's and more, don't they too are facing the similar problems and should have raised the grievance as well

keeping this in mind only, I thought there might be a plan B, to cope up with this
