04 March 2010 I would like to know if a proprietorship firm, or a partnership firm has a shreholding structure, or can issue shares in the family.

There is no shareholding structure applicable in partnership firm or proprietorship concern.
In Partnership firms partner share the profits and loses of firm on the basis of ratio specified in their partnership deed, they don't issue shares in lieu pf profits share.
