We write something on the face of the share certificate when we split it. What exactly do we need to write on it. Also similarly we write somethin on the new certificates coming into existence coz of splitting old certificate. I have gone thru the issue of share certificate rules. Dint find much help in it.

On the face of the new certificate the following wordings can be stated.
Issued in lieu of share certificate no.... sub-divided on splitting of shares.
Pl refer rule 5(2) of The Companies (Issue of Share Certificates) Rules,1960.
