Service tax registration - costs, time and process

TIME: online process takes 5-10 mins. and remaining is submitting of documents which depends on your efforts and deptt.'s intention to register. generally takes a single day.
COST: officially NIL
PROCESS: Its a two step process.
1st submit details online and then submit documents to service tax office.
detail procedure: login to aces.gov.in,
click on service tax tab
register yourself as a new user
you will get a password on your given email id.
register yourself. login. fill the form ST-1, under the tab REG.
take a print and along with required docs.
like pan add proof of business owner/directors and pan and add proof of business and constitution certificate of business.
sign all documents and submit along with filled ST-1 to mentioned address on ack. of online submitted ST-1.
