Service tax registration

27 November 2012 Dear Members,

If someone opts for service tax registration from the mid of any month say, from 15 Nov,2012,then, whether he has to file ST 3 returns from Nov 15, 2012 onwards or he has to file quarter 1 & quarter 2 returns as well??
Kindly help.

Firstly there are Half Yearly Returns in Service Tax. Quaterly return is only for Apr June and July Sep 2012.

And if you take a registration now, then you have to file returns from this half year only and not from previous half year.
