Service tax on yoga services

11 March 2015 Hi,

I want to know about the exemption provided to Yoga Service Providers in Service Tax.

Can you please tell me that whether Service Tax is applicable on a Corporate Entity who is also in Yoga Services along with health membership plans, but its sales has not crossed 5 lacs till date. Please guide me in this regard?

11 March 2015 Yoga services are included in definition of charitible purpose in income tax in budget 2015-16.

For service tax,

Health and fitness services are taxable.

The tax liability is arisen when turnover of services exceeds Rs. 10 Lakhs per annum. As the turnover of entity is less than Rs. 10 lakh, no tax is required to charge in bill.

But once turnover exceeds Rs. 9 lakh, get service tax registration and start charging service tax when bill value exceeds Rs. 10 lakh.

11 March 2015 budget 2015 had proposed to exempt yoga services from service tax net but yet it is not assented by president so wait for finance act 2015 to be passed.

11 March 2015 Thanks, but I want the source document where it is written that yoga services are exempt from Service Tax from 01.04.2015 onwards for corporate entities also.
