Service tax on service to be provided to non-residents

13 February 2009 There is a Tour operator. He provides service to a Non-resident for touring India. Should he charge service tax in the bill? Will he get rebate in service tax?

15 February 2009 There is no exemption of Service Tax available to non residents. The Tour operator has to charge service tax.

However for services rendered in j&k, there will be no service tax.

What do you mean by Rebate in Service Tax, pls explain.
