02 February 2011 I have opened a restaurant in Hyderabad . I want to know is service tax registration required on restaurants. If so on what amount we should collect the service tax.

02 February 2011 If your turnover for last year was less than Rs. 10 lacs (applicable from 1.4.2008) you don't collect the service tax. as per section 65(105)M of service tax act,1994 Hotel is a taxable service as a mandap keeper.
