Service tax on laundry

07 August 2012 In the year 2005, service tax was introduced on dry cleaning services however wer cleaning i.e. laundry was kept outside the ambit of service tax.

However with the inception of the negative list regime what will be the application of service tax on laundry services?
If the service tax is applicable any abatement that is available.

Please guide.

07 August 2012 NO ABATEMENT ON LAUNDARY DEPOSIT THE SERVICE TAX @ 12.36%. I ALSO FROM HOTEL INDUSTRY AND DEPOSIT THE SERVICE TAX ON LAUNDRY (WER CLEANING ) @ 12.36% FROM 01.07.2012.

09 April 2013 My client is in hotel industry, registered for
1. Accommodation services
and
2.Restaurant services( Food Supply).

Is he required to get itself separately registered for laundry services...?

and what is abatement rate for Accommodation services and Restaurant services( Food Supply).- pls reply with a definite source.

09 April 2013 1. Accommodation Service Abatement Rate From 1.07.2012 50%

2. Reataurant Service abatement rate from 01.07.2012 60%

3. for laundry service need to change in ST-2.

09 April 2013 Laundry services should be registered under which head ? .... dry cleaning Services..??

And As per my knowledge Taxable rate has changed to 60% from 50% for accomodation services w.e.f 01.07.2012.
Pls correct me if I am wrong...
