Service tax on language translation services

05 June 2012 One of our clients provides language translation services in abroad as well as domestic territory. Services provided abroad are exempt.

Whether language translation services provided in India are taxable or exempt.

If taxable? Under which head these will be taxed and what would be codes for tax payment purpose.

06 June 2012 The above said services are not taxable till 30.06.2012. Once negative list of Services comes into effect, the same has to be read afresh with exemption services.
