Service tax on goods transport by road

29 November 2011 suppose i have agency of gas cylinder and my depot owner requested me to take delevery of cylinder directly from their godown and the transportation expenses is reimbursed by them to me at a predetermined rate fixed by them which may be lesser/higher than actual transportation expenses so tell me the of service tax liability in this matter if i have my own vehicle or in case i paid the transportation expenses to the transporter.
am i responsiable to discharge service tax liabilit on reverse charge machanisim.

01 December 2011 If you are using your own vehicle no service tax has to be paid.
If you are receiving GTA service from a transporter for inward or out trnasporatation of your form or business and your total turnover during a financial year for freight exceeds Rs. 10 lacs, apply for Service Tax registration and pay service tax .
