07 April 2008 We are providing data entry services to our client. In this case I would like to know do I need to collect service tax? Also is work contract applicable or another law is applicable.

The nature of work attracts service tax. Service tax shall be applicable of the total value for the year crosses Rs.8 / 10 Lacs (F Y 07-08 / 08-09)

WCT is not applicable on the said job.
