Service tax on commission

03 January 2013 hi i have a website where people sell their products online to the US clients, i am providing them the base (as a website)
all the money coming from buyer comes to my account and then seller ship their product.

i charge commission from the seller
do i need to pay service tax ??

if yes what would be the amount

let say seller sell something for rs 100
my commission is rs 10

if yes what amount ??

03 January 2013 Yes you are required to pay service tax on commission @ 12.36% of commission.

03 January 2013 Sorry I forgot to mention that all the money will be coming to my account......after the product is received by the buyer I send the money to the seller
