My Clint have a income from Commercial Property Rs. 3.00 Lacs Per Month.

Kindly tell me are he is liable to collect service tax from the tanent and deposit the same

30 April 2009 In view of the recent judgement of Delhi High Court, no service tax is payable on renting.

But the Govt. may appeal against this decision, therefore it is better to pay tax "under protest" and collect it from the tenants till it is decided by the Govt. or Supreme Court.
