Service tax on advocate service

We are receiving Advocate service of Rs. 10,000/- in a year of which we are liable to pay service tax of Rs. 1236/-, according to reverse charge mechanism.

My question is for only Rs. 1236/- service tax for the year we have to take new registration number and also required to file service tax return.

Cost of which is equal to Rs. 10,000/-.

Seems to unfare.

02 July 2013 yes if you are a business entity and your turnover exceeds 10lacs in previous year you have to PAY THE TAX of Rs 1,236/-
and that too after taking registration.

getting yourself registered and filing service tax return will cost you nothing as per legal fee. though in other way it costs approx rs 1500 for registration and further formalities can be done online directly by your accountant.

but yes you have to do it., whatever it costs you.

under which accounting code we have to pay service tax on advocate service received......

02 July 2013 NO SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED IN PROVISO OF NOTIFICATION 33/2012 THAT SSP EXEMPTION NOT FOR SERVICE RECIPIENTS
