Dear Experts
One of my friend running franchise of a well known courier company. He is registered in service tax for his one premises from last 5 years but he never collect and deposit any service tax service tax return from last 5 year.
His gross receipt from last 5 years are bellow Rs ten lakh.
Now he got a notice from dept. for records of last 5-6 years.
can he claim exemption of Rs Ten Lakh or he have to pay service tax on all receipts of last 5-6 years?

he needs to provide evidence that his gross reciepts have not exceeded rs 10 lkahs to egt exemption

he can show the record that his collection is below Rs. 10 lacs then no service tax liability.
