05 June 2013 While making provision for audit fee for the year 2012-2013 on 31.03.2013, company has booked service tax input. Is company's accounting treatment proper?

05 June 2013 Dear Tarannum,
Above link explains old provision of ST( i.e. While ST was on payment basis). My quarry is related to FY 2012-2013. I would like to explain it. Company has made provision for Audit fee on 31.03.2013 and while doing so it also has booked ST input. Latter bill has been received on 02.05.2013. while receiving bill it has merely reversed provision. No effect on ST input has been given on ground that it has been already booked on 31.03.2013. I think ST Input cant be booked and taken before receiving actual bill(i.e. on making provision).

06 June 2013 they cannot take input on service tax with out original bill

provision will be created now and servicetax input needs to be taken on receival of ORIGINAL invoice

07 June 2013 agree with ganesh ji...bill k bina input credit nahi milata...so the treatment will be according to link...
