Service Tax in Works Contract

Suppose there is a works contract comrising materials worth Rs 70 and labour charges Rs 30. Please indicate the value on which S Tax will be laviable on this works contract bill.

service tax will be levied only on the labour part.

As a trade facilitation measure, service tax can be paid on composition scheme also, which is equivalent to 2% of the gross amount charged for works contract exclusive of vat.
