Dear all,
one of my friend having service tax reg, and he has doing courier services past 2 years.
now the question is he was collect the service tax, and yearly total business 9-10 lakhs, please confirm that, is there any exemption his business.
kindly advice the same.

If in the previous financial year aggregate value of taxable services provided was less than 10 lakh but this year aggregate value of taxable services provided is more than 10 lakh them you start paying service tax after crossing the threshold of Rs 10 lakh. But you cant charge service tax prior to that.
If in the previous financial year aggregate value of taxable services provided was more than 10 lakh but this year aggregate value of taxable services provided is less than 10 lakh them you start paying service tax from rupee one.

If he had providing service less Rs. 10 lakh in previous year he can exemption under NN 33/2012 dated 20.06.2012
