Service tax and vat

03 August 2012 Hello,

One of my party has provide goods o Rs.5,00,000/- to govt. sector. Amount include charges of labour also.
Party is liable for service tax and VAT.
if they make one invoice of Rs.5,00,000/- then how to calculate service tax and VAT

Please help..........

03 August 2012 For certain works contract services there is no service tax to Government on account of construction, erection etc.,. It is in the negative list.

So, unless you inform us the nature of the transactions (wct), service tax liability cannot be worked out.

03 August 2012 Sir, his question is bit different, as per his question answer is u cannot charge both service tax and VAT on single bill of Rs. 500000, cz u dont have figure on which it will be calculated,if it falls in WCT then on whole amount S.Tax should be deducted, andnow comes ques. of govt. Plz see rengaraj ji comment.
