&
Is E-payment of ST & E-filing of ST return mandatory for all assessees??

for large taxpayers ,it is mandatory.

24 June 2008 No specific record is prescribed to be maintained for service tax.

Compulsary E-Payment of Service tax is required in case the Service tax payment in the currrent financial year is more that Rs. 50 Lac for any assesee.

The E filing of service tax return is not compulsary but optional.
