10 November 2012 Dear Experts

We have not taken service tax registration.

we are receiveing below services

1. Freight inward and outward(No ST in thier Bill)
2. Security service(charged ST @ 12.36%)
3. Jobwork of material(ST @ 12.36%)

Is we need to pay service tax on above as per new amendment, if yes at what rate & percentage.

please clarify in detail

10 November 2012 Yes you need to pay service tax on the above services

1. Freight Inward - if the freight is borne by you i.e if you purchase goods from the party and pay freight as reimbursement to the purchaser then you did not need to pay service tax but if you pay freight to the transporter then you are required to pay service tax

2.Freight Outward - you need to pay service tax since freight is beard by you and you are claiming reimbursement from party to whom you sold the goods

Security Services and works contract - if your concern's constitution is of body corporate i.e. Company and the services are received from person other than a company then you need to pay service tax on it

2. works 50

in the above services you will pay tax on 75% amount of security
and 50% on works contract
