30 October 2011 There is an individual who's providing courier , cybercafe n recharge services n his Gross receipts from total services is less then 900000. Practically the services are taxable but service tax registration is not mandatory. So the person has not enrolled for service tax registration.

i wanted to ask whether the service tax will be charged from customers or not?

30 October 2011 if any of his service is under any brand name then service tax is applicable as service distributor.

for other brands the exemption of 10L is not available

30 October 2011 If taxable value exceeds Rs. 9 lakhs you are required to register and if it crosses the limit Rs. 10 Lakh ,charge service tax .
